The General Medicine department is an integral part of Baby Memorial Hospital, which offers wide-ranging medical care to patients. The Department is considered one of the best in the region, which offers complete diagnostic solutions to a host of patients. Led by a team of expert Doctors, it provides primary care services to both out-patients in-patients. The department is equipped with world-class facilities and can handle ailments like Heart diseases, Respiratory ailments, Diabetes and other General diseases. The department handles prevention, diagnosis, and non –surgical treatment of various diseases. The General medicine department also comes equipped with a 24/7 Pharmacy, a world-class Diagnostic centre, and an emergency service centre. .

Achievements
- MD Thesis paper on Diabetic neuropathy in recently diagnosed diabetics, presented at the annual conference of the Association of Physicians of India-Karnataka chapter, in Nov 1998. In the present position, built up the clientele from a meagre 10 to 15 patients per day, to the present (restricted) tally of about 60-70 out patients per day, and about 20-25 in patients per day, with an ICU which is almost daily occupied.
